more philosophical stuff:

I wrote a letter to myself today.. it covered some of my mixed emotions. Here it is:

Hey, God…

So, like, the towers went down this morning.
Big deal?

Well, the one I lived in is still there. Nevertheless.. Knapp/Storms was always there. Had to walk through it, or around it, to get to campus. And we had the nice view of the blinky towers to the south.

I remember that dorm room, on the end. The wind would blow so strongly.. if all I did was open one window in the den, and one window in my room, man, that wind would scream through my room.. and it felt so wonderful. It was like I was inviting freshness and power into my life. I loved that room.

It seems like I left that behind in a blink of an eye. One month, I was happily playing DND with my peeps.. and then I was graduated, struggling to make peace with the grad students around me, crashing at my job, crashing my car, and boom. Real world, we’re here. Goodbye, innocent childhood.. mine lasted a good long time, eh? :]

I remember coming back to those towers to visit once or twice. Always with a sense of loss… and I remember while living there, some guy came by to visit his old room. I was like, “what a dumbass” to myself.. but now I totally understand.

So, here I am now.. the towers have been halved. I’m in my 30’s. My life is working better for me now than it ever has in the past. Yet, ... [stuff edited out. This part is SEEKRIT].

Thanks, God.
Please help me relax and get lots of sleep and get healthy soon.
Love, Sunju

In other news.. finally getting a chance to feel it.. wow, Howl's Moving Castle is an amazing movie. Its got themes of age, and of love, and of family, and of beauty. And of course, flying machines, blobby monsters, fast pace, awesome soundtrack, great artwork, wonderfully complicated intertwined themes, and a really awesome little fire demon named Calcifer. This is one I will buy. I rank it up there with Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke.

Okay. *blows nose*. g'night.

Phooey! I knew the towers were coming down this summer. I would have liked to have seen them go. Too bad I missed it.

I think I'm going to have to buy Howl's Moving Castle. The kids can't quite remember the movie but they keep playing as though they're Howl, Sophie, Calcifer, and Heen anyway. It is quite amusing. Gabby makes a good Heen.

Who was Heen? i forget. The little kid?

Oh yeah! He's awesome.

And! lots of video on 5,8, and 13's websites.
Imagine the audio: each of the "bangs" was like a firework "bang", except that the air literally pushed you back for a moment.

sure but it's not the same as being there. *pouts*
